Love You Mother's Day Card

Hello! Mother's Day is just around the corner and I've made a card for my dear mother using Stamp Simply's Happy Iris clear stamp and die sets.

I've colored this iris in mind with my mother's past garden where she grew pale yellow irises along one border. I'm hoping that it sparks a memory for her as she suffers from dementia.

The iris is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored with Copic Sketch markers, then die cut with the Iris die. It is layered over a pearly gray background of Craft Consortium Baroque decorator paper with an oval die cut from a Spellbinder die (similar).

The sentiment from the Happy Iris stamp set is stamped directly onto the oval panel using Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.

You can purchase the Happy Iris stamp and die sets individually or as a bundle.

Shaped Oval Card of Hope

Hello! I have a simple shaped card for you today...something a bit different! It features Stamp Simply's Hope clear stamp set...so many lovely Bible verses and sentiments.

I began by cutting the oval base out of white cardstock with a Spellbinder Oval die. I simply cut, scored, then die cut the paper base with the oval die placed slightly over the scored top edge. You can see the open oval base in the photo below. The oval measures approximately 3.5" x 4.5."

The designer paper is from The Paper Studio Earthy Pink paper pad that was gifted to me. I cut an oval panel of the dp to layer over the top of the oval base.

A Sizzix Tim Holtz Brush Stroke Butterfly die, die cut from Ranger Watercolor paper and spritzed with Ranger Distress/Distress Oxide Sprays for color adds a pretty accent.

The sentiment oval panel is framed with some Paper Trey Ink Linen Vellum, also die cut with a Spellbinder Oval die.

Here's the inside of the card...

The sentiments were stamped with Versafine Clair Fallen Leaves ink (similar here).

Sing to Him a New Song

Hello and Welcome!

Many birds have returned from being away for the winter months and it is such a blessing to hear their birdsong! You do not realize how much that you miss them until they are back.

My card for today features both bird and song with Stamp Simply's God Will Take Care of You stamp and die sets.

The bird image from the God Will Take Care of You set is stamped onto cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then colored with Copic Sketch markers. It is then die cut with the God Will Take Care of You steel die set.

The base of the card is covered with Stamp Simply's Coffee or Tea? decorator paper. Stampin' Up's Everyday Arches dies accent the image nicely, while the Bible verse sentiment and music notes are stamped directly onto the base of the card with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.

Stamping Group Challenge Card

My stamping group, nicknamed "The Biddies," meets monthly and we take turns providing supper and choosing a challenge for the card exchange. This month's challenge was to use the provided cardstock which is shown in my card (+black as a choice, if desired). It also required using a paper clip that was provided.

I thought the colors and striped paper clip very festive, so decided on this ice cream cone design using Stampin' Up's Ice Cream Swirl Dies and Ice Cream Swirl stamp set

I also used Stampin' Up's Mini Corrugated Embossing folder to add texture to the background. The die to cut the sentiment is a Stamp Simply Fishtail Banner Sentiment die.

Fun and easy!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week.

John 3:16 Easter Card

As we approach Holy Week, one of my favorite Bible verses comes to mind: John 3:16. God's grace to us is immeasurable; our greatest and most precious gift.

My card for today features Stamp Simply's Salvation stamp set, along with their Eucalyptus stamp and die sets.

The sentiment from the Salvation stamp set is stamped with Versafine Clair Morning Mist ink, then the cross of nails from the set overstamped with Tim Holtz Ranger Distress ink. The sentiment is die cut into ovals with Spellbinder dies, then layered over a lacy looking background made with a Sizzix 3D Texture fade Lace embossing folder.

The final accent is a branch stamped and die cut with Stamp Simply's Eucalyptus stamp and die sets. Simple, but filled with texture and soft color.

Absolutely Pear-fect!

Welcome! What weather we have been having here in Michigan! We missed the huge ice storm that was in the Lower Peninsula, but have had very wintery weather for the past week. Longing for Spring...maybe the snow storms are over.

I have a fairly quick make for you today featuring Stamp Simply's Fruit and Fruit Sentiment stamp sets. So fun to play with...the sentiments are so great with the fruit images...plus there is also a Stamp Simply Fruit of the Spirit stamp set as well. On sale for 35% off!!!  Check them out!

I began by stamping my pear image with Memento Rich Cocoa ink, then colored it with Copic Sketch Markers. I then die cut the image panel with a Spellbinder Oval die, then layered it over a slightly larger oval die cut. Tucked between is a fishtail banner accent die cut from a gingham sheet in Echo Park's Farmers Market paper pad. It's cut with a Stamp Simply's Fishtail Banner Sentiment die, snipped in half and layered between the ovals. The base of the card is also layered with a piece from the Echo Park paper pad.

The final sheen on the pear comes from Ranger's Glossy Accents.
